The Northrop T-38 Talon is an American supersonic training aircraft.
It was the world's first supersonic training aircraft and remains the most produced to this day.
It is in service with air forces worldwide.
The United States Air Force (USAF) is the largest user.
In addition to USAF pilots, the T-38 is also used by NASA astronauts in the USA, with the aircraft being leased from the USAF to NASA.
The US Naval Test Pilot School is the primary operator for the US Navy (other T-38s were previously used as US Navy attack aircraft until they were replaced by the similar F-5 Tiger II).
Some NATO pilots also fly the T-38 as part of joint training programs.
