Curtiss P-40M Kitty Hawk

The P-40M was generally similar to the P-40K, but had a lengthened fuselage like the P-40L and was powered by an Allison V-1710-81 engine, which offered improved high-altitude performance compared to earlier Allison versions. It featured some detail improvements and was distinguished by two small air intakes just in front of the exhaust pipes.
Most aircraft were delivered to Allied countries (mainly Great Britain and the USSR), while a few remained in the USA for training purposes.
