Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 F-13 Fishbed

The MiG-21 F-13 was very similar to the previous version.
It had a wider and lower fin and a different cockpit canopy. The armament was also changed.
The port NR-30 cannon was removed (replacing only the aerodynamic fairing), and the aircraft carried two underwing pylons with K-13 launchers. The K-13 IR missile was identical to the first AIM-9 Sidewinders captured during the Korean War.
Both versions are representatives of the "first generation" MiG-21 fighters. They were purely classic day fighters, used only in good weather conditions and within visual contact with the target.
The results of the "first generation" fighters led to the development of the "second generation" MiG-21.
