Grumman Gosling Mk.I / Widgeon
KPM-H7241
Kovozavody Prostejov
1:72
This twin-engine, high-wing monoplane with its all-metal, boat-shaped fuselage was distinguished by its ability to operate from both water and fixed airfields, thanks to its retractable wheeled landing gear.
However, with the outbreak of World War II, most of the aircraft were acquired by the US Navy and Coast Guard, where they were used as light transport, ambulance, and anti-submarine warfare aircraft.
The Widgeon's military use was not limited to the US, as aircraft were also supplied to the British Royal Navy and other Allied countries under the Lend-Lease Act. After the war, the aircraft returned to the civilian sector, where its reliability and ability to land almost anywhere made it an icon of transport in remote lake districts and coastal waters. The kit from Kovozávodů Prostějov offers a detailed insight into this elegant machine, including cleanly pressed engine nacelles and large cabin glazing.
