B.Ae. Hawk T. Mk. I

The Hawk T Mk. 1 was developed by Hawker Siddeley, now part of BAE Systems, to equip Royal Air Force training units in the second half of the 1970s.
The Royal Air Force's specific requirement was to have a new updated jet trainer to replace the old Folland Gnat.
The advanced trainer Hawk was characterized by great maneuverability and was able to reach a top speed of Mach 0.84 thanks to its Rolls-Royce Adour turbofan engine.
The Hawk T1A, developed from the original Hawk T1 project, was intended to replace the Hawker Hunter in the Royal Air Force's tactical squadrons.
In fact, the original aircraft was modified with an Aden 30 mm cannon and had the ability to carry AIM-9L Sidewinder air-to-air missiles.
  Thanks to its good performance and operating costs, the Hawk is used by several air forces around the world.
The modified Hawk T1A is still used by the Royal Air Force's Red Arrows aerobatic team.
