MIL MI-8MT Soviet Multipurpose Helicopter

The Mi-8MT is a medium-duty multi-purpose helicopter - an improved version of the Mi-8T helicopter.
The helicopter is equipped with 2200 hp TVZ-117MT engines, an AI-9V auxiliary power unit, the tail rotor has been moved to the port side and many structural elements have also been improved.
The flight speed of the Mi-8MT increased to 250 km / h, the operational altitude - up to 5000 m, the range - up to 600 km. The increased power-to-weight ratio made it possible to significantly increase firepower by increasing the number of weapons mounted on board and increase the aircraft's maneuverability.
To counter surface-to-air missiles, there are systems for distributing hot engine gases, firing false thermal targets, and generating pulsed IR signals.
The Mi-8 and its modifications make this machine one of the most robust twin-engine helicopters in the world; a total of more than 17,000 copies of all modifications were built
