On October 13, 1944, the Reppu was ready for renewed test flights.
This time, it achieved a speed of 628 km/h in level flight at an altitude of 6,600 m and climbed to 6,000 m in 6 minutes and 7 seconds. Its maximum altitude was 10,890 m.
With this, the Reppu was ready to replace the A6M5.
Saburo Sakai, who tested the aircraft in Nagoya in June 1945, described it as the fastest fighter he had ever seen and claimed it could outrun anything in the air, Japanese or American.
