The Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" was a long-range carrier-based fighter used by the Imperial Japanese Navy from 1940 to 1945.
The A6M was designated as the Mitsubishi Navy Type 0 carrier fighter or the Mitsubishi A6M Reis-en.
The Battle of Midway was a major naval battle in the Pacific theatre of World War II that took place from 4 to 7 June 1942.
Six months after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor and one month after the Battle of the Coral Sea.
