Plastic model kit for building an aircraft
- 1:48 scale
- 98 parts
- 3 decal and painting options
- Unbuilt/unpainted
Paint and glue not included
Make room on your workbench, because this 1:48 scale Supermarine Spitfire PR.XIX is waiting for your attention. 98 plastic parts are ready to be assembled, and three paint scheme options are available – a dream for any Spitfire enthusiast.
The PR.XIX was the last photo-reconnaissance version of the Spitfire in active service with the Royal Air Force (RAF). It was created by combining features of the Mk.XI Spitfire with the powerful Griffon engine of the XIV and was one of the fastest and, some say, most beautiful of all Spitfire variants.
Due to its role as a reconnaissance aircraft, it was unarmed and relied on its high top speed to evade potential enemies. After the war, the PR.CIC served in the Far East, operating over the island of Hainan and on June 10, 1957, completed the last operational mission of an RAF Spitfire over Malaya.
