The IAR 80 was a Romanian fighter and ground-attack aircraft from the World War II era, featuring an all-metal, cantilever low-wing monocoque design.
At the time of its maiden flight in 1939, it was comparable to contemporary designs such as the German Messerschmitt Bf 109B and the British Hawker Hurricane Mk.I.
Production issues and a lack of available armament delayed the IAR 80's entry into service until 1941. It remained in frontline service until 1944.
