With over 52,000 built between 1941 and 1945, the 3-ton Bedford QL truck was one of the most widely built British vehicles during World War II.
The QL was designed as either a general purpose truck or troop transport and was powered by a 3.5 litre 6-cylinder petrol engine producing 72bhp, allowing a limited top speed of 61km/h.
Thanks to its high ground clearance, off-road tyres and a 2-speed 4WD transfer case in the middle of the chassis (allowing 8 forward gears), the QL had excellent off-road capability.
Many examples are still in use by enthusiasts.
