The 8.8 cm gun appeared in the form of the FlaK 18 and FlaK 36/37.
The PaK 43/3 L/71, a gun originally intended for the Jagdpanther, was supplied with its makeshift carriage (a simplified mount) suitable for stationary defense.
This cruciform platform was fully functional, with its legs that could be folded up and down.
Such improvised weapon arrangements and simplified designs were typical of the late stages of World War II, when Germany sought to deploy as many anti-tank weapons as possible to keep the enemy at bay.
