The Soviet BT-7A (Artillery) light tank was equipped with a 76mm KT gun, mounted in an enlarged turret. It was deployed to engage anti-tank guns and other targets against which the 45mm rounds of the standard BT-7 tanks were too weak. The BT-7A saw action during the Battles of Khalkhin Gol as well as in the Soviet-Finnish War during the early stages of World War II.
