The third volume of Jörg Siegert's fundamental documentation on the NVA's missile systems meticulously examines surface-to-air systems, i.e., air defense weapons.
These were an essential component of air defense and of the ground forces' air defense units of the NVA.
As with the official volumes, Siegert focuses on describing the missiles and their technology.
The technology directly necessary for missile deployment, such as launch pads, missile guidance stations, transport vehicles, and fuel logistics, is also briefly discussed, interspersed with many previously unpublished photographs.
