For transport, the FlaK 38 was mounted on the single-axle Sonderanhänger 51 (Sd.Ah. 51) trailer. Its compact design also made it ideally suited for mounting on various self-propelled carriages and vehicles. Notable carrier vehicles included the Sd.Kfz. 10/5, the Sd.Kfz. 3b (Maultier), the Sd.Kfz. 251/17, and the Flakpanzer 38(t). Twin and quadruple mountings were also developed; their high volume of fire made them particularly effective against low-flying aircraft.
Thanks to its high mobility, rapid rate of fire, and versatility, the 2 cm FlaK 38 remained one of the German armed forces' most widely used light anti-aircraft guns until the end of the war, proving its worth on almost every theater of operations during World War II.
