The British Army used the Scammell Pioneer tank transporter for a variety of purposes during the war.
The trailer was permanently attached to the tractor unit and not removable like modern semi-trailers.
Folding ramps were used to load the tank onto the trailer. When stationary, the tank could be hoisted using the tractor unit's winch.
