From the beginning of the rearmament of the German Army in the early 1930s, the advantages of motorized vehicles were known and every effort was made to provide the right vehicles for modern warfare.
One of the simpler vehicles used by motorized units was the medium-sized Krupp all-terrain truck Type L3H 63.
The vehicle had largely the same chassis as the three-ton model (1927-1928), a vertical six-cylinder carburetor engine producing 90 hp, a four-speed gearbox, an auxiliary gearshift for on-road or off-road speeds, and support axles with individual locking differentials.
Hydraulic six-wheel brakes were used. Many different body types were built.
