Unimog S 404 Krankenwagen

Unimog S 404 Ambulance: Thanks to its payload capacity of one and a half tons, the Unimog S was ideally suited as an ambulance. These vehicles were manufactured with standardized enclosed bodies in various configurations. The interior could be flexibly adapted to different needs – from four stretchers with patients to a combination of stretchers and seats. Wide rear doors facilitated loading with stretchers.
Due to their excellent off-road capability and good performance, these vehicles were in service with the German Bundeswehr  for many years (approximately 2,000 were built).
