The VK 45.01 (P) was a heavy tank prototype developed by Ferdinand Porsche in Germany.
With a petrol-electric hybrid drive that was complex and required significant amounts of copper, it lost the tests to its competitor from Henschel and was not selected for mass production.
Most of the chassis already produced were converted to Elefant tank destroyers.
10 VK45.01 tanks were built with Krupp turrets and 8.8 cm KwK-36.
