Germany produced a number of tank destroyers to withstand the flood of tanks pressing in on the country from all sides. One of these designs was the Panzer IV/70(A).
As the name suggests, this vehicle was based on a Panzer IV hull (specifically an Ausf.J) and was manufactured by Alkett as an intermediate design.
From August 1944 to March 1945, a total of 278 tank destroyers were produced simultaneously with the more common Jagdpanzer IV/70(V).
A long-barreled 7.5 cm PaK 42 gun was mounted in the casemate structure.
Due to the nose-heavy nature of the vehicle, the first four rollers had to be fitted with steel rims, while the vertical undersides of the body visually distinguish this type from the Jagdpanzer IV/70(V).

Verified Purchase - from Richard B. posted 12/4/2023 1:52:27 PM A solid kit from Dragon with armoured side skirts made mostly of metal and catered for by a fairly large etched fret to construct the framing. These really enhance the detail but require patience to achieve good results. Happily this kit come with magic tracks and five figures though the box states only four but even with a rifled metal barrel still pushes the limit on price for myself. 0 from 0 Customers found this review helpful.2 Reviews available in other languages
