Closely related is the Sturmhaubitze 42 (StuH.42), which was used to support tanks and infantry and had a larger caliber and more effective cannon.
The first examples produced were manufactured by Alkett in October 1942, based on StuG.III chassis of the E/F version, which were equipped with a 10.5 cm StuH.42 L/28 howitzer.
