The M110 self-propelled gun formed the backbone of the United States Army field artillery for many years.
It entered service in the 1960s. Thanks to the improvements made to the M110 A1 version in 1977, efficiency was increased.
The M110 A1 was armed with the new M201 203mm gun, which could use a wide range of ammunition.
The vehicle featured an excellent combination of firepower and mobility, thanks to its reliable chassis (the same as that of the M107).
The M110 A1 was used in divisional artillery to perform tasks such as support, counterfire and engaging enemy positions. It was widely used during the Lebanon conflict and the first Gulf War.
