The early-production M3 Stuart was the first mass-produced version of the American Stuart light tank, with manufacturing beginning in 1941. It was characterized by an octagonal turret featuring a distinctive commander's cupola, hull-mounted machine guns, and a riveted construction. Armed with a 37mm gun and several machine guns, the tank combined high mobility with armor protection that was impressive for a light tank. It saw its first combat action with British forces in North Africa, where it earned the nickname "Honey" due to its reliability. Although its armament proved inadequate against later German tanks, the M3 Stuart remained a valuable reconnaissance and support vehicle throughout the war and is today considered one of the most famous light tanks of World War II.
