The Scimitar is a CVR(T) series (Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked)) reconnaissance vehicle developed in the United Kingdom and entering service in 1971.
Due to combat experience in Afghanistan, the British Army converted several Scimitars to the Mark 2 standard.
Improvements included a new aluminum hull, based on that of the Spartan troop carrier, offering increased internal volume and protection, as well as a new fuel system and suspension.
