After the 2003 Iraq War, the US Army began evaluating proposed modifications to the M2 Bradley to restore space, weight, power and cooling capacity that had been reduced by the addition of improvised armor and electronics.
Lighter chains, shock absorbers, a new suspension system and heavier torsion bars were installed.
BAE Systems offers a Bradley variant equipped with radars, jamming antennas to take down drones, anti-aircraft missiles and a 30 mm rapid-fire cannon as a last line of defense.
