M21 Mortar Motor Carriage - Smart Kit 2025 Version

The M21 featured several improvements over its predecessor, the M4. Most notably, the vehicle was based on the longer M3 half-track chassis.
This increased length allowed the mounted mortar to fire forward (instead of rearward like the M4) and to mount the .50 machine gun on a pedestal near the rear of the vehicle.
The M21 half-track's primary armament was the 81 mm M1 mortar, which carried 97 shells.
Another distinctive feature of the M21 was the baggage racks mounted on the exterior sides of the fighting compartment.
The M21 mortar carrier was used by both the US and Free French forces during World War II.
