Sd.Kfz.222 ( Leichter Panzerspähwagen) German armed scout car was designed to meet requirements including speed, reliability, simple construction and good off-road performance. After been introduced in 1938, it quickly became the main German armored scout car thanks to its speed and the devastating lightweight Rheinmetall 20 mm autocannon. More than 1800 vehicles were produced between 1937 and 1943.
