The Unprotected Transport Vehicle (UTF) has replaced the MAN KAT1 series used by the Bundeswehr for over 40 years.
By the end of 2018, the Bundeswehr had already received over 2000 vehicles of this new truck.
Visually very similar to its predecessor vehicles, the UTF series covers the military payload classes from 5 to 15 tonnes and features both off-road ABS and an automatic transmission.
Manufactured by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV), the UTF features a 10.5-litre in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 440 hp.
