Why Focus on resin
Three employees are responsible for the production on 200m2. Another 5 people are developing new models (prototypes). The company Black Dog is specialized in resin model kits, respectively in very detailed, extensive loading and accessory sets. In the meantime more than 1400 models have been produced under this name.
Great demand
Black Dog launches about 100 new products every year, and there is a great demand for the model kits from the Czech Republic. You will hardly find them at trade fairs and exhibitions, as they are more than busy with orders to ensure prompt delivery to your local distributors.
The black dog
How did the company name come about? Petr Polanka's first company was called Goffy Model, named after his dog. When he founded Black Dog he wanted the dog theme to have good recognition among modelers. A colleague then designed the black logo dog for him.
Fun Fact: it sometimes leads people to conclude they are producing items for dogs.
Petr Polanka is connected to the hobby of model making since his childhood. Before he started his own business with Black Dog he worked in hotel management.
Even today when his limited free time allows he devotes himself to model making, preferring to build ships or airplanes.
