The Focke Wulf Fw 189 was not only the reconnaissance aircraft Fw 189A, but also several prototypes of a ground attack version and a series of Fw 189B trainer aircraft.
These differed from the reconnaissance version by having a streamlined fuselage nacelle that could accommodate a crew of up to five student pilots.
The running gear and some minor details on the engine nacelles were also different.
