The Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum is a twin-engine supersonic air superiority fighter designed in the 1970s to defeat new American aircraft such as the McDonnell Douglas F-15.
It was used by the Soviet Union Air Force in the early 1980s.
Thanks to its two Klimov RD-33 afterburning turbofan engines, the Fulcrum is capable of reaching a top speed of Mach 2.2.
It is characterized by a very elegant and harmonious aerodynamic profile with a flat and wide fuselage and two vertical tail fins.
The Mig 29 is armed with a 30 mm cannon in the port wing root and can accommodate a variety of air-to-air missiles, including the AA-8 “Aphid”, the AA-10 “Alamo” and the AA-11 “Archer”.
It is widely used by the Russian Air Force and many air forces of Eastern European countries.
Among other things, it was taken over by the Indian Air Force.
