- Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero Fighter Model 32 (Hamp)
The Model 32 Zero fighter aircraft, produced from autumn 1942, followed the Model 21 and was used in the war in the Pacific. It featured a Sakae 21 engine with two superchargers and its trademark was a main wing shortened by 50 cm on both sides and given an angular surface.
It was superior to the Model 21 in terms of top speed, climb rate and roll performance and was even (incorrectly) given a different nickname because of its appearance: “Hamp”.
