The Fairey Firefly was a World War II carrier-based fighter and anti-submarine warfare aircraft used primarily by the Fleet Air Arm (FAA).
During the Korean War of 1950-53, both British and Australian Fireflies conducted anti-ship patrols and ground attacks from offshore aircraft carriers.
Other duties of the aircraft included anti-submarine patrols and air surveillance, as well as assisting battleships in effectively directing fire from naval guns.
