The Hawker Hurricane was the most frequently used fighter aircraft in the British Royal Air Force at the beginning of the Second World War.
The Hurricane was powered by a liquid-cooled Rolls-Royce Merlin with 12 cylinders and more than 1000 horsepower, which could reach speeds of over 500 km/h.
The eight 7.7 mm Browning machine guns guaranteed good firepower.
Although slower and more outdated in terms of aerodynamics than the famous "colleague" with which it served during the Battle of Britain, it was nevertheless more robust, cheaper and easier to maintain and repair.
It was instrumental in the RAF's victory during the Battle of Britain, but during the war it gradually transferred the role of front-line fighter to the more modern Spitfire.
