The Harley-Davidson WLA is based on the civilian Harley-Davidson WL motorcycle and was manufactured for the U.S. Army. It weighed an impressive 288 kg. The 750 cc engine produced 26 hp (19 kW). This enabled it to reach speeds of up to 105 km/h. The Harley-Davidson WLA was nicknamed the Liberator because of its role in the operation after the Normandy landings.
