Unverifizierter Kauf - von - Menno Verheij verfasst am 14.05.2020 21:09:41 Before building this kit, I build the Hobby Boss Guam class cruiser and the French pre-dreadnought Danton class battleship. In a way, it seems I did the kits in the reversed order compared to their release by Hobby Boss. If so, it may explain why the Tsesarevitch had a few minor issues, notably with the photo etch compared to the other kits. It sometimes seemed as if the etch parts were for another version (I had the 1917 version) which I had not encountered with the other ships. Some railings were a bit too long to fit properly and had to be cut. Other etch additions were not very useful ( like superfine blades for the forward winches which cannot be seen if the bridge is put in place...). Nothing though the average modeler couldn’t handle. The plastic parts are generally OK. However, it seems to me that certain parts of the plastic railing prevent the small turrets in front and at the back to rotate. Perhaps that on the real ships parts could be lowered. If you want to be sure, best to search on the internet for pictures or other build logs. I think it is really a very good idea of Hobby Boss to include all the basic etch one needs to get a very good impression of how the real thing may have looked like. I did a couple of other ships with extensive photo etch and, although the result is really impressive, in the end it is a lot of work on a lot of small details which in the end are easily overlooked when contemplating the finished model. It is no doubt a matter of taste and dedication, but an overall realistic impression is good enough. So no wooden deck nor brass canons for this one (although the guns do need a bit of cleaning up). Just the etch provided by the kit and weathering and you have a very nice model in about 2/3 week’s time. Recommended for modelers with some experience both in building and in painting. I hope Hobby Boss continues bringing such kits. 0 von 0 Kunden fanden diese Bewertung hilfreich.
