Over 170 color scheme profiles from the most common camouflage, to the most unique and unusual vehicles that were used by the DAK and Regio Esercito, including major artillery pieces used in Africa, highlighting above all the powerful 88 mm Flak 18/36/37.
Through the 108 pages of this book, you will find inspiration for your next African modelling project; projects that you can enhance further with the AK550 Africa Korps Colors Acrylic Set, and the AK068 DAK Weathering Set. This book shows the original German camouflage of vehicles used by the Deutsche Afrika Korps, with color variants employed throughout the war.
We look at German Army vehicle colors for the African campaign, including European Dark Gray (RAL 7021), in which vehicles arrived in Libya. This continues through to the initial camouflage campaign colors, Yellow-Brown RAL 8000 with Green-Gray spots of RAL 7008 (in 1941), and the new Yellow-Brown RAL 8020 and Sand Gray RAL 7027, used from 1942 onwards. We also include a selection of Italian vehicles, often forgotten, that fought alongside the Germans, against the Allie,s from 1941 to 1943. This is supplemented by the addition of allied vehicles serving with Axis troops, including a number of curious American halftracks that we present to you on a double page spread, with distinctive German markings from 1943.
