The book is a real T-34 compendium, which takes up practically all variants and even the smallest manufacturer modifications and documents them in words and pictures. The book begins with the predecessors of the T-34s, the ill-fated fast tanks from the BT range, and the influence of the Spanish Civil War on tank development in the USSR, before moving on to an in-depth look at the prototypes of the T-34.
After that, every production change in the different production plants is cataloged and contextualized, with never-before-seen photos and detailed technical drawings. In addition, four field reports are also included to help clarify the context of the event for major changes in the production of the T-34. This technical history of the T-34 is rounded off with sections on post-war production (and modifications) by the later user states of Czechoslovakia, Poland and the People's Republic of China.
