The Kfir was commissioned in 1975 and assigned to fighter squadrons.
Over time, some updated versions were released as the Kfir C7, which featured a more powerful engine, better avionics and the ability to refuel in flight.
However, with the introduction of the new F-15, the reliable and robust Kfir changed its primary role and was used for ground attack missions.
It is armed with two 30mm cannons and can carry various types of rockets, bombs and rocket launchers.
